Savage Bitcoiners: Interview with andhans
by Pirate Beachbum | Sep. 21st, 2021 | vol.13
Name: andhans
Country: Still building/under construction.
How long have you been into Bitcoin and what got you interested?
Check bio. Nah, I haven’t bought any yet, I swear!
Best Bitcoin experience and worst Bitcoin experience?
Best: All the very supportive, unselfish, non arrogant people in the community especially when Bitcoin devs waste their personal time bullshitting with me.
Worst: All the phonies everywhere with fiat mindsets riding on Bitcoin. These are the narcissistic, arrogant assholes
What is the biggest fail you have ever seen in the Bitcoin world?
That the people who deserve and matter the most, earn and are known the least, whereby undeserved people who just milk the scene make the most and are best known. The number of sovereign key managing self validating soldiers is actually still growing, but the number of ugly cheerleaders grows so much faster. This is sad.
How did you get into memeing about Bitcoin?
I am not sure. It was most likely while trash talking Udi, Larry, Giacomo or when Faketoshi attacked Hodlonaut. I mainly got into it because I communicate better in memes than in English. Before or during the blocksize wars it was way more about understanding, everyone knew what SegWit did. Now most don’t even know about taproot and all the marketers only talk about “stock 2 ups flow is determined by supply and demand“ or “I am representing Bitcoin, I am building here, key management or verifying… duuuude I am not living in mom's basement that’s too technical. Everyone can use bitcoin as he wants to 🤦🏻♂️” but actually they are not even using it.
Why do you think meming is important in this game?
A meme can say more than a thousand words.
How do you feel about Memers getting paid by companies to market their products?
Watermarking is ghey and not in the spirit of the space. I dunno. I like doing shit for people I respect. When I see them wearing a shirt I gifted them or a logo or pic I did for them and no one knows, that’s what it’s about for me. I think that’s cool. Sadly, most people I respect always give me credit.
What is your favorite Bitcoin meme of all time?
Not your keys, not your bitcoins.
Not your node, not Bitcoin.
Are you using Bitcoin or letting others do it for you?
What inspires your best memes?
I look at memeing like trash talking on the basketball courts. It’s more about if your bullshit inspires me or not.
Who is the biggest Bitcoin sell out that deserves to be put on blast?
I have never seen these sell outs as Bitcoin sell outs. There are people who try to use Bitcoin as a vehicle for their startups or social climbing.
Why is it important to call out the bad actors?
There are so many authentic honest cool people who do what they do. Whether they make money or not, they live Bitcoin. The problem is this space has a lot of wannabe influencers and it’s like a disease. The noise from some of these idiots is so loud that it covers the signal. How do new people find the good people to learn from? It was a lot easier to learn back in the days than now imo. There are so many people talking now who really shouldn’t talk. A lot of people are just too naive and they fall easily for these phonies. This is why we must call out these fools.
Who are some of the most hardcore Bitcoiners you know and why?
The Bens are cool. More and more people see through the circle jerkers. I mean what does hardcore Bitcoiner mean? If you ask my wife, I am because I spend so much time on it. The most hardcores Bitcoincers are all the people that keep their heads down and just build great stuff.
Why do you think some people, especially noobs gravitate to shitcoins?
It is because the top of the funnel has no clue what Bitcoin is. They are lured in by Bitcoin’s nGU and think every other shitcoin is the same. They are in for a rude awakening.
What do you have to say to shitcoiners who claim Bitcoin will fail?
They will have to learn the hard way like so many have learned in the past. Getting burned by shitcoins turns people into hardcore Bitcoin Maximalists. This is not a bad thing. I mean when they really understood why Bitcoin could fail, they definitely wouldn't be shitcoiners.
What potential obstacles in the road do you think Bitcoiners need to pay attention to?
The magnificent opportunity of Bitcoin falling away because it's easier to use centralized services.
Do you consider yourself a Bitcoin Maximalist? If so, why?
Yes. I want to deprive the state of my money.
What Bitcoin startups or companies are you most excited about?
I love everyone who produces something and earns Bitcoin.
What are your goto Bitcoin storage options?
I think what’s important is to know that you hold your own keys, hence why key management is necessary to learn. I use several things to generate and store keys, from PCs that are not in existence anymore to hardware wallets and metal backups.
Any tips you want to give to people new to Bitcoin?
There are probably not many Bitcoiners with over 100k followers worth listening to except perhaps Adam Back. Learn about key management. You generate, hold and store your own keys. Also, using your own node is the number one feature not a burden.
Name some of your favorite information sources and/or podcasts in the space.
Libbitcoin wiki by Eric Voskuil, Bitcoin stack exchange, EG Murch and others are contributing so much knowledge by answering questions.
People like Chris Belcher, Luke, Ruben, Waxwing, Openom, etc.
I don’t think podcasts are the best way to learn, but some Podcasters like EG Stephan Livera are still producing good content beside their interviews. I listen more to podcasts like the Blue Collar Pleb podcast. It is honest, authentic and people talk about everything with no filter. I am really not interested to hear traders or shitcoin apologists. The unhashed podcast is also good and ahh Reckless Review was a great podcast, RIP.
Big ups to my memetard brothers.

Over the years he has written dozens of articles about Bitcoin, and interviewed many of the top minds in the space. Most people know him from co-founding a rogue group of Bitcoiners, who call themselves the Bitcoin Taco Carnivore Plebs, with his good friend Hodlonaut.
